Channel A is starting up their drama time slot once again, easing back into the weekend groove with the slice-of-life romance My Lovely Journey (previously I’ll Take the Trip for You) in August. Though I can’t help but grumble at yet another lovely title, I won’t say no to a summer with Kim Jae-young (The Judge From Hell) in the latest posters. Also starring Gong Seung-yeon (Karma) and Yoo Joon-sang (The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch), the novel adaptation has PD Kang Sol (Show Window: The Queen’s House) and writer Jung Hwe-hyun (Radiant Office) leading production. In the meantime, SBS will be taking us down melancholy lane with Namgoong Min (My Dearest) and Jeon Yeo-bin (A Time Called You) as our tragedy-bound pair in the upcoming Our Movie. Telling a tale about endings that are also beginnings – as stated in one of the new posters’ tagline – the melodrama will soon be unfolding on weekends, following The Haunted Palace, on June 13 next week. A new rom-com called Who Are You is in the works, which has offers out to Cha Joo-young (The Queen Who Crowns) and super busy bee Lee Jun-young (Pump Up the Healthy Love). With the former up to play a top star and daughter of a presidential candidate, shenanigans will presumably ensue when she meets Lee’s character – a black ops agent suffering from amnesia. With PD Myung Hyun-woo (Check In Hanyang) attached to direct, the 12-episode series is planning to release in 2026. [Hankook Ilbo, Osen]
New stills have dropped on KBS for First Night With the Duke, sparking love between leading man Taecyeon (Heartbeat) and our not-supposed-to-be-heroine Seohyun (Song of the Bandits). With the story based on a popular webnovel by the same title, the fantasy romance follows Pump Up the Healthy Love in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, premiering on June 11. [MBC]
Netflix came out with another bundle of stills for Mercy for None, showcasing our revenge-seeking hero So Ji-sub (Doctor Lawyer) along with Heo Jun-ho (Buried Hearts), Gong Myung (Second Shot at Love), and Choo Young-woo (The Trauma Code – Heroes on Call) among others in the shadowy ensemble cast. Directed by PD Choi Sung-eun with scripts by Yoo Ki-sung, the action-noir and webtoon adaptation will be launching this week on June 6. [Star News]
