Confidence Queen Park Min-young swipes loot from baddie pockets

Sweeping us into the madcap adventure to come in Amazon Prime’s Confidence Queen, the latest promos include posters and a teaser, in addition to new stills, showcasing our trio of tricksters: Park Min-young (Marry My Husband), Park Hee-soon (Squid Game 3), and Joo Jong-hyuk (Unmasked).

Now, though our heroes are con artists through and through, it’s not just the pretty money that’s motivating their cause, as the team’s main mission is to empty the wallets of society’s (rich) big bads. This of course makes their line of work even riskier and we open the trailer with Yoon Yi-rang’s (Park Min-young) word of caution as they don’t yet know if their swindled prize is real or fake. Thus, the need to always check and see who the goddess of victory is smiling at.

Unfortunately, there is no shortage of villains in sight and that means no rest for our crew. In the sequence, we get a glimpse of the scumbag list they’ll be tackling, with what looks like deliciously fun guest appearances by ~~ex-husband~~ Lee Yi-kyung (Marry YOU), Oh Nara (The Nice Guy), and Song Ji-hyo (The Witch’s Diner), as well as Kim Sun-young (Love Take Two) and Jung Woong-in (Trigger).

Our swindlers are meticulous in their strategies – not to mention the elaborate costumes – but they can’t help but stumble when unexpected variables interfere with their schemes. James (Park Hee-soon) and Myung Gu-ho (Joo Jong-hyuk) are less pleased about going off script. However, Yi-rang holds a more cheery view, delighted by the excitement of sudden improvisations. And we close the teaser on her advice to enjoy things while you still can.

Adapted from the popular Japanese series The Confidence Man JP, production for the remake has PD Nam Ki-hoon (Destined With You, Big Bet) at the helm with writing by Hong Seung-hyun (Criminal Minds, Joseon X-Files). Launching in two weeks on September 6, Amazon Prime’s Confidence Queen will also be releasing through TV Chosun and Coupang Play within Korea.
