Typhoon Family (1-2): A good start, and while I am invested for now, I’m not completely sold yet. Still, I like the leads, and the first 2 episodes were mostly set-up, so I’m curious to see what this week brings now that the set-up is out of the way. I’m a bit on the fence about the romance that will probably play a part though: I could do without it, but I’m also not opposed to it. Still, if it happens, I hope it’s a slow-burn (and by that I mean an actual slow-burn, not something that starts as one and then suddenly switches gears before we’re even at the halfway point).
Ms Incognito (5-6): Conflicting feelings on this one. I like the story, and I enjoy the drama, but I’m struggling to figure out what this drama actually wants to be. It’s all over the place genre-wise. The comedy feels too silly for this kind of drama, since there’s also a serious story at play that the drama regularly switches back to. It’s fun and enjoyable, don’t get me wrong, but I find it harder and harder to figure out whether I’m actually supposed to take any of this seriously or not, and I find myself getting less and less interested in the story as time goes on.
A Hundred Memories (9-10): I already went on multiple rants about this drama, but I’m starting to think most problems stem from one key problem: this drama has no real sense of direction. It’s like they had a basic idea for the drama, and maybe a basic idea for who would end up with who, but nothing more. It feels like the drama has no idea as to where it actually wants to go, no idea what it actually wants to do, no idea as to how it wants to do things, and no idea as to how it actualy wants to develop it’s basic ideas. Basically, they’re making everything up as they go along. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes this can work, but sometimes it can also completely break your drama. Sadly, it’s the second one here. Well, at least it’s almost over?
Confidence Queen (11-12): While these last 2 episodes weren’t as fun, as what came before, I did really like it’s final twists/ reveals, and I very much enjoyed this entire drama. It’s fun, ridiculous, and kinda stupid, and all of this just kinda works.
Our Golden Days (19-20): All right, how many secret children does Seong-hee have? Jokes aside, that was a fun twist, so I’m curious to see where we go from here.
