Redmagic launches three new cooling accessories for phones with its VC Cooler 6 series
Redmagic, a mobile gaming sub-brand of Nubia, has launched three new smartphone cooling accessories under its updated Redmagic VC Cooler 6 series.
The three models (Redmagic VC Cooler 6, VC Cooler 6 Air, and VC Cooler 6 Pro) differ in build size, weight, cooling potency, and price points, offering users a decent variety that suits their needs and budget.
Despite these differences, they all offer magnetic and clip-on attachments, USB-C compatibility (for keeping the device powered), and options for silent airflow. Even the loudest cooler (VC Cooler 6 Pro) operates below 35dB, lower than typical bedroom ambient noise.
Upgrades vary depending on the model. For example, the VC Cooler 6 offers rapid cooling and faster heat transfer, while the VC Cooler 6 Air trades some cooling power for added portability and lightweight handling. We’ve compiled the specs below for comparisons.

Cooling pucks and fans for phones? Why do they even exist?
Most phone users who don’t push the limits of their handsets might find cooling accessories a strange add-on to buy. However, they exist because mobile device productivity is usually limited by good old science.
Modern phones generally share the same design perks and constraints as laptops. Despite the limited space, one can assemble a portable device with powerful processors that can parse AI queries and calculations in a blink of an eye.
These processors build up heat when tasked with a heavy workload (which includes gaming, taking high-res photos and videos for extended periods, AI generation, video editing, and more).
Most of these devices throttle processor performance when they reach a hard-coded temperature threshold set by the manufacturer or chipmaker. Such safety precautions prevent unnecessary damage to processors and other components or accidentally scalding the user. However, it also restricts the processor’s true performance potential.
