Episode count: 12

Reasons to watch: JTBC is taking us back to the 1980s for their latest drama, A Hundred Memories. In this period piece, Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun play two best friends who work together as bus attendants. We get a peek into the lives and work of bus attendants (who were exclusively women) and we get to see their friendships and their dreams for the future. Their lives aren’t all work and no play; and love is in the air thanks in part to Heo Nam-joon who plays the rebellious son of a wealthy businessman. Each woman has their own meet cute with Heo Nam-joon and they both fall in love with the broody young man.
Something about this drama has me feeling wistful, and I didn’t even live through this era! Judging from the publicity materials, it looks as though there will be a lot of joy and wholesome friendships in this drama, but I’m also bracing myself for the inevitable heartbreak when the women realize they’re in love with the same man. Let’s hope for “hurts so good” rather than “end of an era” because I want Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun to have as much screen time together as possible.
