  • Eerie new posters have come out for SBS’s The Mantis – Original Sin and it’s a complicated relationship to say the least with Go Hyun-jung (Namib) as our titular serial killer and estranged mother to her offspring son and cop Jang Dong-yoon (Like Flowers in Sand). The mystery, crime-thriller is based on the French series La Mante and will be following The Winning Try on weekends, premiering on September 5. [SBS]
  • Balancing out our genre palate, JTBC will be delivering a sweet romance the same weekend with Song Joong-ki (Reborn Rich), Chun Woo-hee (The 8 Show), Lee Joo-myung (Like Flowers in Sand), and Seo Ji-hoon (Tarot). The nostalgic vibe continues in the latest pretty poster, tugging at our heartstrings for the love story to come, beginning on September 5 in the Friday slot. [News]

  • Further away on the horizon, we may be getting a Park Eun-bin (Hyper Knife) and Yang Se-jong (Low Life) pairing in the horror rom-com Chilling Romance, which has both actors currently in talks. In a remake of the hit 2011 film by same title, which starred Sohn Ye-jin (Thirty-Nine) and Lee Min-ki (Mary Kills People), production for the series is in the early stages. [Newsen]
  • Heo Nam-joon (When the Stars Gossip) is considering an offer for the period drama Whale Star, potentially joining Choi Woo-shik (Melo Movie) and Moon Ga-young (Law and the City) in the webtoon-adaptation. Directed by Heo Jin-ho (A Normal Family, Love in the Big City [series]) with Lee Han-eol (The Last Princess) writing, in the meantime we can expect to see Heo in JTBC’s upcoming Hundred Memories.   • Speaking of history, Netflix has dropped a new poster and video announcement for the crime-action movie Good News, embroiling us in a plane-hijacking catastrophe in 1970s South Korea. Starring Sol Kyung-gu (Hyper Knife), Hong Kyung (Weak Hero Class 2), and Ryu Seung-beom (Family Matters), the period noir will be available for streaming on October 17, following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.   • The promos continue on Prime’s Confidence Queen with a batch of new stills, showcasing our titular heroine Park Min-young (Marry My Husband) and her teammate Park Hee-soon (Squid Game 3).
