Apple Watch users around the globe have something new to look forward to on 24 April. To mark ten years since its first smartwatch went on sale, Apple has announced a special Global Close Your Rings Day, to encourage users to stay active and engage with their fitness goals.

If you’ve been an Apple Watch user, you’re probably already familiar with those iconic Activity rings: Move (the red one, tracking active calories), Exercise (green, monitoring brisk activity), and Stand (blue, counting hourly movement). The idea is straightforward: close all three rings by hitting your daily targets. But come 24 April, achieving these goals comes with a special incentive.

Apple Watch users who successfully close all three Activity rings on that day will unlock a limited-edition digital award. Alongside bragging rights, users will also receive 10 animated stickers and an exclusive animated badge for use in Apple’s Messages app across all Apple devices.

For collectors, Apple is also offering an exclusive commemorative pin inspired by the Global Close Your Rings Day achievement. This limited-edition pin will be available at Apple Store locations worldwide on 24 April, while supplies last.

Alongside this anniversary celebration, Apple also shared compelling insights from its ongoing Apple Heart and Movement Study, conducted in partnership with the American Heart Association and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Based on data from more than 140,000 Apple Watch users in the US, the findings underscore how beneficial closing those Activity rings can be for one’s overall wellbeing. Regularly meeting these daily goals correlated with significant reductions in poor sleep quality (by 48%), elevated resting heart rate levels (73%), and perceived stress (57%). According to Apple’s Newsroom, these positive outcomes were consistent across all age groups and genders.

Don’t forget, folks. Mark your calendar.
