FAS becomes Aspire Academy’s 51st Aspire In The World Fellow, earns spot alongside global football elite – Football Association of Singapore
SINGAPORE, 17 APRIL 2025 – The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has joined the ranks of some of the world’s most prestigious football institutions by becoming the 51st member of the Aspire in the World Fellows network.
Aspire in the World Fellows is a global community of elite football clubs, federations, and leagues that, since 2014, has been dedicated to innovation, development, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the game. Singapore becomes the first Southeast Asian entity – and only the fourth Asian organisation after the Qatar Football Association, Korea Football Association, and Urawa Red Diamonds – to join this exclusive network.
This landmark partnership was formalised on Monday, 14 April through a collaboration agreement signed between Aspire Academy – one of the world’s leading high-performance youth development institutions based in Qatar – and the FAS. The agreement underscores Singapore’s growing football ambition and marks a significant step forward in its efforts to strengthen technical capabilities and football infrastructure.
The Aspire in the World Fellows network includes some of the most influential clubs and federations in the world of football, such as Liverpool FC, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain FC, Real Madrid CF, and the football federations of Argentina, Brazil, England and Italy. As the 51st Aspire Fellow, the FAS will contribute to – and benefit from – a global platform for sharing expertise in football performance science, youth development, and sports technology.
Strategic areas of collaboration

The first initiative under this new partnership will be led by the FAS Football Science and Medicine Department, and co-organised with the Aspire Academy – The Workshop Tour Asia – Singapore, 16-18 June 2025. This will be held at the Jalan Besar Stadium and is complimentary to all coaches and sport scientists as well as medical practitioners.
This will be the second edition of The Workshop Tour following 2024’s successful event held in South America.
The first two days of the Singapore workshop will feature a series of theoretical and practical sessions led by representatives from Juventus FC, AFC Ajax, Liverpool FC, FC Porto, The FA, Italian FA, Aspire Academy, and FAS.
These sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including nutrition, psychology, sports science, youth development, and technical and tactical aspects of the game. The event will serve as a platform for technical exchange among ASEAN federations, clubs, and coaches, and aims to stimulate football dialogue and development across the region.
On the third day, a community outreach activity will be organised for the local children, promoting the joy of the game through on-field football activities to inspire and engage the next generation. As an Aspire in the World Fellow, the Singapore football eco-system will gain access to best practices in training methodology, performance management, sports science, data analytics, and nutrition.
Additionally, the FAS will take part in the annual Aspire Academy Global Summit.
