KBS has released photos from the script reading of upcoming thriller Eun-soo’s Good Day (working title). The story follows a struggling mother who comes across a mysterious bag that could possibly solve her financial problems. Alas, some gifts come with a steep price, and what seemed like a stroke of luck at first may actually lead to her ruin.
Starring as the titular Kang Eun-soo is Lee Young-ae (Maestra – Strings of Truth). As a mother to a middle school daughter, Eun-soo simply wishes to protect her family, but when she stumbles across a stash of drugs worth millions, she falls into temptation. Having to care for her terminally ill husband, Eun-soo decides to sell the drugs herself, and enlists the help of a nearby source: her daughter’s art teacher.
Kim Young-kwang (The Haunted Palace) plays Lee Kyung, a beloved after school art instructor by day and a club MD by night. A two-faced figure who sells drugs to the affluent, Lee Kyung joins hands with the clueless Eun-soo and gets entangled in her new endeavors. Will their partnership result in riches or go up in flames?
In opposition to our two protagonists is Park Yong-woo (Hunter with a Scalpel) as Jang Tae-gu. A veteran detective leading a team in the narcotics unit, Tae-gu investigates a major drug ring, and as he digs deeper, Eun-soo gets caught on his radar.
In addition to the main cast, Bae Soo-bin (The King’s Affection), Jo Yeon-hee (Wonderful World), and Hwang Jae-yeol (When Life Gives You Tangerines) have joined along with a plethora of other familiar faces.
Directed by PD Song Hyun-wook (Serendipity’s Embrace, The King’s Affection) with scripts penned by Jeon Young-shin (The Lies Within), the 12-episode crime-thriller Eun-soo’s Good Day premieres September 20 in KBS’s new weekend slot following Twelve.
