Ma Dong-seok fights against Park Hyung-shik in Twelve
by lovepark
Promotions have started for KBS’s summer spectacle Twelve. Starring an angelic Ma Dong-seok (Police Unit 38, The Roundup: Punishment) and a demonic Park Hyung-shik (Buried Hearts), the upcoming action drama follows the battle between good and evil as the twelve zodiac angels rise once more to save humanity.
Long, long ago, twelve angels fought against the forces of darkness and managed to seal them away. However, the fight cost them the lives of four companions as well as their powers, and now they live as ordinary humans. That is until Oh-gwi (Park Hyung-shik) returns.
Demon crow Oh-gwi has been itching for some fun, and now that his worshiper has brought him back, he plans to turn the human world into hell and transform everyone into demons. The only beings capable of stopping him are the zodiac angels who trapped him before, but unlike their previous encounter, these heroes aren’t so super anymore.
Zodiac member Seo In-gook (Death’s Game) comments on how they are no different from regular humans so how are they supposed to go up against demons. Contrary to his concerns, though, fellow angels Lee Joo-bin (The Divorce Insurance), Regina Lei (Tabloid), and Kang Mina (Welcome to Samdal-ri) look more than ready to fight as they blast enemies, shoot arrows, and knock out goons with ease. Then there’s leader Tae-san (Ma Dong-seok) sporting a tiger-print tracksuit to match his zodiac sign, and even without his powers, he holds his own.
As Sung Dong-il (The Art of Negotiation) reminds his teammates that their purpose is to help the human world, Tae-san replies with a flippant, “News to me.” However, when Oh-gwi shows his smug face around, Tae-san is more than willing to stand by the other angels Go Kyu-pil (The Fiery Priest 2), Sung Yoo-bin (Resident Playbook), and Ahn Ji-hye (The First Responders 2) as they face their final foe.
Directed by filmmaker Kang Dae-kyu (Pawn) with scripts by Kim Bong-han, KBS’s Twelve is slated for eight episodes and premieres August 23 in the Saturday-Sunday slot.
