And Happy Birthday to SZE, thank heavens her tax issues got resolved))) As you could’ve guessed from last week’s entry, I am currently DROWNING in TPOB content, and with my little to none swimming skills it is hard all around. But happy troubles for sure – what do yall know, I’m very elated to see not only drama finally airing against all odds, but also doing immensely well. Even with arrival of strong competition, TPOB has already officially joined Tencent’s list of certified hit dramas with heat index 30K and LYN is now the second male c-actor to achieve top heat index on all big platforms (MangoTV doesn’t have heat index counter) and the first one to do so with costume dramas only. Tencent is very happy with results as well, gifting us romantic shorts of lead couple teasing the audience with almost kiss (not so much an uncertainty after today’s episodes, heh):

Sadly, Tencent’s hasn’t been generous with promos, and even offline events we got for 520 (Chinese Valentine’s Day) were somewhat messy and poorly managed. While interactions felt a bit awkward initially (2 years since filming! I can imagine), soon their (in)famous bickering kids chemistry returned in full force for interview and games. Most memorable parts: Yuning’s random English lol, SZE revealing herself as fangirl of his livestreams, complimenting his pretty lips THAT I can imagine too, girl! not as vivid as you with your firsthand tasting experience, ofc and reenactment of wedding (fusion of Han dynasty rites and modern bouquet throwing lmao) in happier than in the drama mood. Oh, and the choking scene, just with roles reversed. She barely reached^^ AI subbed in two parts:
