Hwang In-yub, Hyeri

  • ENA has confirmed casting for Your Dream (roughly translated), pairing a film director Hwang In-yub (Family by Choice) and reporter Hyeri (Friendly Rivalry). Directed by PD Yoo Sun-dong (Unmasked, The Uncanny Counter) with Jung Eun-bi (Doom at Your Service, Mr. Sunshine) writing, the rom-com is expected to premiere in 2026. [10 Asia]
  • Kim Ji-hoon (The Haunted Palace) has reportedly been tapped for Coupang Play’s Cheating Is Not the Issue Here (roughly translated), potentially becoming husband to Kim Hye-soo (Unmasked). With both Kims and Jo Yeo-jung (Tarot) also in talks, the crime-suspense and black comedy has PD Lee Chang-hee (A Killer Paradox, Hell Is Other People) at the helm, with scripts by Jung Eun-kyung and Park Soo-rin.   • Over on Disney+, revenge is very much the issue when Ji Chang-wook (Gangnam B-Side) becomes our title’s The Manipulated, reprising his role from the movie Fabricated City in this drama remake. Fiercely facing off against his manipulator D.O. (Bad Prosecutor) in the new first poster, the 12-episode thriller will be kicking off with episodes 1-4 on November 5.   • Park Ji-hoo (Spring of Youth) is back in high school in the first poster for Spirit Fingers on TVING, taking classes alongside Jo Joon-young (Crushology 101), Choi Bo-min (Crushology 101), and Park Yoo-na (Rookie Cops) in the webtoon-adaptation. Bringing some cute into this fall’s spooky season, the youth romance will be lighting up our screens on October 29 next month. [Sports Donga]

  • TVING – as well as tvN – has also been busy with this year’s O’PENing season and the first poster has dropped for the next short drama on the docket, titled, Hwaja’s Scarlet. Starring Oh Nara (Confidence Queen), Kim Shi-eun (Squid Game 2), Seo Young-hee (Mary Kills People), and Lee Jae-kyun (Salon de Holmes), the heartwarming family tale will be unfolding on October 3.   • New character posters are out on SBS, proposing Would You Marry Me for our fake-wedded couple: Choi Woo-shik (Melo Movie) and Jung So-min (Love Next Door). Also housing Bae Nara (Tastefully Yours), Shin Seul-gi (The Haunted Palace), and Seo Beom-joon (The First Night With the Duke) into the frame, the rom-com is slated to follow Queen Mantis on weekends, premiering its story on October 10.
