First loves have become synonymous with K-dramas from childhood sweethearts to one true loves, and adding to that long list of stories is JTBC’s newest romance My Youth. A tale of rediscovery and reunion, the upcoming show follows two lovers as they find the missing pieces of themselves through a journey filled with warmth and laughter.

Song Joong-ki (Reborn Rich) stars as former child actor Seon Woo-hae. He peaked early in his career, but the accolades were short-lived. In order to survive, he spent his twenties working, covering his wounds with the relentless passage of time, until he finally settled into a quiet, unassuming life as a florist. However, that peace he found is disrupted by his first love who suddenly returns.

Playing Woo-hae’s first love is Chun Woo-hee (The 8 Show) as Sung Jae-yeon. A straightforward individual, Jae-yeon now works as a manager with very little excitement in her day-to-day life until, one day, she meets again with Woo-hae. As her presence throws his world askew, the same can be said for Jae-yeon as the emotions she buried resurface after seeing him.

Seo Ji-hoon, Lee Joo-myung

Joining our leads is Lee Joo-myung (Like Flowers in Sand) as Mo Tae-rin. A child actor like Woo-hae, Tae-rin remains in the entertainment business unlike her former co-star and has worked hard to reach her current status. Known to be peculiar, Tae-rin has a completely different personality from her manager Jae-yeon, but like our heroine, Tae-rin also harbors a first love — albeit one only she remembers.

Once the object of Tae-rin’s affection, Seo Ji-hoon (Tarot) plays Kim Seok-joo. Though he comes from wealth, Seok-joo grew up lonely, so when Tae-rin enters his life, a different kind of excitement fills his heart. He also happens to be Woo-hae’s new brother and the son of Jin Kyung (The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract ), the cutthroat CEO of Tae-rin’s management company. In addition, Jo Han-chul (Trigger) plays Woo-hae’s immature father who spends his days writing romantic poetry.

Penned by Park Shi-hyun (Run On) with PD Lee Sang-yeob (Yumi’s Cells 2) at the helm, JTBC’s 12-episode romance My Youth premieres September 5 in the Friday slot.
