With HP Amplify set to arrive next week, I decided to look at what I hope to see at HP’s main partner event of the year. While it may not have as large a product showcase as HP Imagine (which is HP’s main product launch event), I am still looking forward to seeing what products and advancements HP has in store following what the company announced during CES 2024.
Next-gen notebooks with AI
Dell has just released a number of notebooks equipped with Intel Meteor Lake processors and its NPU, including some using NVIDIA Tensor GPUs. During CES 2024, HP announced new Spectre x360 notebooks with Intel Core Ultra processors. HP’s gaming range of devices also received a refresh at CES 2024 with HP’s new Transcend 14 that comes powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and support the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.
What I’d like to see during HP Amplify is if they also included a dedicated Copilot button, support for higher-end NVIDIA GPUs, and how Intel’s Meteor Lake NPU will be used.
Revolutionary Display Technologies
Display technologies have been evolving rapidly, and I hope to see displays with higher refresh rates, increased resolution, and improved colour accuracy at HP Amplify 2024. I might even witness the introduction of foldable and rollable displays, providing users with more versatile and different viewing experiences.
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) Integration
As AR and VR technologies continue to mature, their integration into everyday computing is becoming more feasible. I hope HP may unveil products that seamlessly incorporate AR and VR capabilities, offering users immersive experiences for work, entertainment, and communication similar to the Apple’s Vison Pro.
Input Devices
Following its Poly and HyperX acquisitions, HP may introduce new input devices and ways that redefine how we interact and communicate with our devices and each other. These could include touchless controls, gesture recognition, or interactive voice controls.
Sustainable Computing
All tech companies have an eye on environmental sustainability. HP has long had a green initiative and we could see more advancements in eco-friendly computing during HP Amplify 2024. This could be increasing levels of recycled materials included in notebooks and peripherals along with innovative packaging solutions to reduce electronic waste.
This is a shortlist of some of the new tech highlights we’d like to see at HP Amplify. But tune in later this week for our coverage of HP Amplify and see which of my wishes came true.
